1. Find a location that will have enough room for the AC unit’s clearance and ventilation specifications.
2. Evaluate for possible safety hazards, such as areas prone to flood water collection or overexposure to dirt, grime, grease, or anything else that could inadvertently catch on fire.
3. Ensure the location will be able to hook up to the ductwork, drain, pipes, electric supply, and gas supply.

Air conditioners use British Thermal Units (BTUs) to demonstrate the power capability of the system. 1 BTU is roughly enough power to cool every 400 sq. ft. of your home.
